A user permanently deleted… Well… A very significant majority of one of our own client’s company data.
They thought these were freeing up 200GB of unnecessary data that no one accessed, but alas. Right now 800GB of data is gone. Permanently deleted. No recycle bin.
The previous THIS company has some backups through December of 2021. Their subscription expired and they never ever renewed it.
No hyper-v checkpoints exist.
We tried recovering shadowcopies on the VM, but that didn’t work.
Does Hyper-V possess some sort of graceperiod for us to wind down the damage?
I amount we might need to contact more experienced data recovery professionals if we need to.
