And so i used PhotoRec which assisted recover many files I actually accidentally deleted. To my shock it also recovered a great number of additional files that I deleted a long time ago… while that may be a good thing, I am concerned about privacy here. If say I was to provide this hard drive over to another person, recovery software like that could be able to get a lot of our private files intact, and that is a major concern.

How will I be able to remove files from the disk while making sure that they are wiped completely and can’t be recovered?
