I have a laptop that suddenly refused to boot with a "hard drive not found". I removed the SSD, mounted it on a docking station and no result (no drive found).
The laptop is fine, it finds another M2 drive I installed. I also installed the failing SSD drive in another laptop, same result, no hard drive found error.
Just to say, it is an issue with the M2 SSD drive, not the disk controller.
Tried to freeze the thing like in the old days with mechanical drives. I'm contemplating putting the thing in the oven to heat up to the maximum operating range as well, but have not been there yet.
My question now. Has any of you fellow data experts had any success with data recovery companies to get anything from these tiny M2 drives ?
